Life Sciences industry leader joins the region’s Life Science & Healthcare membership organisation

Cambridge, UK – 4 August 2025: Microbiotica, a clinical-stage biopharma company developing a pipeline of oral precision microbiome medicines called live biotherapeutic products (LBPs), announces that patient recruitment is complete in its Phase 1b First-in-Human trial, COMPOSER-1, of MB310 in ulcerative colitis (UC) patients.
This international trial has recruited 29 adult patients at clinical centres in the UK, Austria, Bulgaria, Poland and Spain. Initial results are expected by the end of 2025.
RxBiologics has an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated scientist to join us and help develop our services to support our growing client base. The position is based within the RxBiologics team, working at the Babraham Research Campus, a leading site within the Cambridge biotechnology hub.
The Role
EMBL-EBI and Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute share the Wellcome Genome Campus. This proximity fosters close collaborations and contributes to an international and vibrant campus environment. Researchers are supported by easy access to scientific expertise, well-equipped facilities and an active seminar programme.
The EMBL-EBI–Sanger Postdoctoral (ESPOD) Programme builds on the strong collaborative relationship between the two institutes, offering projects which combine experimental (wet lab) and computational approaches.
In an article in Pharmexec, May 2024, the author identified seven essential attributes that investors look for before investing in Life Sciences. Among the seven was a “proven management team”. And this was described as “paramount”.
I remembered seeing something similar in Excedr’s online piece on ‘Top VC Firms for Biotech in 2024: Supporting Innovation & Growth’, where they cited “fostering a strong management team” as “the biggest factor that smart investors consider”.
We are recruiting for an Interim part-time Finance Manager (three days per week) on an initial six month contract, with potential for extension.
This is a highly impactful role that will give the successful candidate ownership of many elements of the financial operations of the business.
